Interim Support Funding (ISF) is designed to assist Principal Investigators (PIs) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) who are experiencing a lapse or delay in their research funding from federal agencies such as the NIH, NSF, or Department of Defense. The program provides short-term, one-year bridge funding to help investigators maintain the continuity of their research operations while awaiting the outcome of new or resubmitted independent grant applications (R01, R21, U01, P01, or equivalent). The ISF aims to preserve valuable research programs at MGH by supporting projects with high significance and scientific impact that are likely to receive future external funding.
