Description
This initiative funds Pennsylvania county probation departments to implement restrictive probation conditions focused on treatment and supportive services for individuals with substance use or mental health disorders, diverting them from incarceration. The program aims to reduce recidivism and enhance public safety by supporting evidence-based treatment, case management, peer support, and supervision activities, in line with the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing guidelines. Counties are encouraged to leverage Medical Assistance funding and must comply with evaluation and reporting requirements.
