Description
The Foundation for SMFM offers this fellowship through the Queenan Global Health Awards, established in 2014 in honor of Dr. John T. Queenan. The awards prepare current and future perinatal health leaders to advance obstetrics in low- and middle-income countries, where adverse outcomes are disproportionately concentrated.
Under a senior scientist’s mentorship at a Geneva-based international agency, the fellow contributes technical support to systematic evidence reviews and clinical expertise to global maternal and perinatal health recommendations. The fellowship provides exposure to multicountry research, international guideline development, and the links between research and public health policy. Work is tailored to the fellow’s interests and expertise and the agency’s strategic priorities. By completion, the fellow is expected to have contributed to at least one evidence review or policy guideline.
