Description
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) provides International Archaeology Day grants to its Local Societies to support events associated with the observance. These grants contribute toward society-hosted IAD events, rather than a separate research or fieldwork program. The program is part of the Institute’s support for local society activities and its broader archaeology awareness mission.
The AIA is North America’s largest and oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to archaeology. Its mission encompasses awareness, education, fieldwork, preservation, publication, and research concerning archaeological sites and cultural heritage worldwide. For IAD events, the Institute also offers an optional flyer connecting attendees with its e-Update newsletter and a free digital issue of ARCHAEOLOGY magazine.
