The International Iguana Foundation (IIF) provides annual project funding to promote iguana conservation through partnerships with scientists, educators, and organizations committed to preserving biodiversity. The program supports a wide range of iguana species and conservation efforts, with preference for projects that directly contribute to the survival of Critically Endangered and Endangered iguanas and their habitats.
Other priorities include gathering information on Data Deficient species to update IUCN Red List assessments and supporting projects included in IUCN SSC Iguana Specialist Group Conservation Action Plans, endorsed by that group, or covered by approved regional action plans. IIF values projects that build on previous work and contribute to established or long-term conservation programs, using sound scientific methods to deliver measurable conservation impact.
