Description
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) supports International Fellowship alumnae who apply their academic expertise and leadership to community-based initiatives benefiting women and girls. International Project Grants fund charitable work advancing gender equity and social and economic empowerment, with particular interest in historically underserved communities and at-risk groups. Supported initiatives have addressed challenges ranging from property rights for widows to safe, dignified workspaces for cassava producers.
Both new and existing initiatives across all fields are eligible. The program emphasizes documented local needs, meaningful community engagement, measurable outcomes, sustainable impact, and sharing results with the communities served. Creative approaches to project design, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement are preferred.
