Description
The Internet Society Foundation’s Internet Governance Forum funding program supports United Nations IGF Secretariat-recognized National and Regional Initiatives (NRIs), recognized youth initiatives, and National and Regional Schools on Internet Governance (SIGs). It promotes open, non-commercial, inclusive multistakeholder dialogue on Internet governance policies and issues, alongside follow-on actions that strengthen the Foundation’s mission.
The program also supports future Internet governance leaders with the skills, knowledge, expertise, and lived experience to shape the Internet’s future. Forums receive support for organizing activities and encouraging diverse participation, while schools equip diverse actors to participate in Internet governance structures. The Foundation encourages accessible events and equitable participation. Eligibility criteria have been updated for 2026, including specific requirements for publicly available information on event websites.
