Summary: Supports international learning mobility across Africa to develop skills, strengthen higher education, and improve employability in Global Gateway priority sectors.
Key Information: Institutional consortium call, not an individual scholarship application; a Sub-Saharan African HEI must coordinate.
The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme funds partnerships of Sub-Saharan African higher education institutions (HEIs), supported by an EU HEI as technical partner. Managed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) under NDICI–Global Europe, it supports master’s and doctoral study, traineeships, staff exchanges, and institutional activities needed to deliver mobility.
Projects must align with country or regional Global Gateway priorities in Climate and Energy, Digital, Transport, or Health, addressing no more than two priorities. The scheme emphasises practical learning, fieldwork, research, entrepreneurship, and cooperation with employers. It aims to improve academic recognition, teaching quality, internationalisation, and regional skills circulation while widening participation by women and people with special needs or vulnerable backgrounds.
