Description
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) offers Invitational Fellowships to overseas researchers with excellent records of research achievement. The program covers all fields of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. It aims to advance visiting researchers’ work while promoting academic research and internationalization in Japan through collaboration with Japan-based colleagues.
Long-term fellowships support joint research during visits of 2–10 months. Short-term fellowships support visits of 14–60 days for discussions, opinion exchanges, lectures, and related activities. Short-term plans should include exchanges beyond the host institution and opportunities to foster young researchers. Both formats emphasize a concrete plan developed with the host researcher before application.
