Description
Presented by IOP Publishing and run by the Institute of Physics (IOP) Ireland, PEGS Ireland supports creative events and activities that share contemporary physics with the public. It aims to spark interest among people who might not usually engage with physics and create opportunities beyond the classroom for young people from groups underrepresented in the subject.
The scheme also seeks to develop physicists’ science communication skills and build the science skills and confidence of artists, communicators, and community and cultural groups. Projects are assessed for the quality of their physics content or physicist involvement, their contribution to inclusion in physics, their evaluation plans, and their potential to continue or grow.
