Description
The Iowa Screenwriters Grant supports Iowa screenwriters undertaking professional development tied to an active screenplay. Its purpose is to advance individual artistic practices and careers while elevating Iowa’s creative screenwriting industry. As of fiscal year 2027, this opportunity is contained within the Artist Professional Development Grant, with screenwriting funding sponsored by the Iowa Scriptwriters Alliance and the Iowa Motion Picture Association.
The broader program supports learning, mentorship, and business development for artists of all disciplines. Eligible activities include conferences, workshops, artist residencies, classes, apprenticeships, coaching, professional feedback, and peer reviews that advance an artist’s practice or creative business in Iowa.
