    Description

The IPRA Foundation, the grant-making arm of the International Peace Research Association, supports small peace research projects by scholars worldwide. The program advances rigorous, interdisciplinary investigation into the causes of conflict, war, and other forms of violence, alongside research on the conditions of peace and alternatives to violence. Established in its current form in 2013, it continues the Peace Research Grants Fund launched in 2002.

The Foundation values original, socially relevant research that engages stakeholders and informs peace activities. Its priorities include nonviolent strategies, peace and justice, respect for dignity and diversity, and research by people within vulnerable and marginalized communities. It particularly emphasizes researchers lacking conventional funding access and projects rooted in the communities studied, while encouraging communication and collaboration among peace researchers.
