Key Information: Applicants must be public water suppliers with an active WMA permit or registration and drinking-water sources in the Ipswich River Basin.
The Ipswich Water Supply and PFAS Grant is funded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs and offered by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). It addresses persistent drinking-water quantity problems and PFAS contamination in the Ipswich River Basin, supporting work to identify and advance water-supply solutions for communities withdrawing water from the basin.
Supported work includes feasibility studies, infrastructure design, water-chemistry analyses, and permitting. Projects may reduce demand on the Ipswich River, plan or design PFAS treatment systems, or advance shovel-ready construction. Construction projects may remediate PFAS contamination, reduce demand on basin water sources, and/or connect systems to another water supply.
