Description
The Isaac Schour Memorial Award is an International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) Distinguished Scientist Award recognizing outstanding scientific contributions in the anatomic sciences. Its focus includes tissue engineering, tissue regeneration, and stem cell research related to the oral, dental, or craniofacial complex. Rather than funding a proposed project, it honors scientists whose work has brought about significant advances in oral health, conferring the highest honor in dental and craniofacial research.
The award commemorates Dr. Isaac Schour, an early leader in international dental research, the 18th President of IADR, and a professor of histology and dean at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. It is supported by an endowment provided by Dr. Bernard G. Sarnat and Rhoda G. Sarnat through the Sarnat Family Foundation.
