The ISAKOS Research Grants Program provides society members with funding for high-quality international research in arthroscopy, knee surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine. Offered every two years, it supports laboratory and clinical projects through four categories: New Researcher, Translational Research, Clinical Outcomes, and Countries with Limited Resources. Translational Research focuses on early osteoarthritis, prevention and treatment, while Clinical Outcomes supports well-designed trials evaluating interventions in orthopaedic sports medicine.
Clinical relevance is central to the program. Applicants must explain how their work could change clinical thinking or patient treatment, with relevance evident in the title, abstract, specific aims and study design. Projects may involve live patients, cadaveric models or animals, and applications compete only within their selected grant category.
