Key Information: Each partner center must designate an ISN full member as liaison officer throughout the partnership.
The International Society of Nephrology’s Sister Renal Centers (SRC) program builds partnerships between less-developed Emerging Centers and experienced Supporting Centers. Led by the ISN SRC Committee, it supports clinical nephrology education through training exchanges, on-site mentorship, virtual learning, workshops, and service development. Emerging Centers must be in low-, lower-middle-, or upper-middle-income countries.
The program offers three levels of support over up to six years, with competitive progression between levels. Its goal is for Emerging Centers to become self-sufficient institutions delivering better kidney care and training other centers in their region. Graduating partnerships are encouraged to form trios: the former Emerging Center supports a new local center, while the original Supporting Center becomes a Mentoring Center.
