The International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL) makes New Investigator Awards in conjunction with its biennial congresses. The awards encourage researchers at the start of their careers to attend and present their work, while recognising excellence in oral and poster presentations. Monetary prizes help recipients meet registration and travel expenses for the meeting where the awards are presented.
The awards are administered through the meeting organisers and the society’s awards and executive committees. Meeting organisers determine the specific selection criteria, and available sponsorship determines the number and nature of awards at each Congress. Recipients are recognised at the Biennial Congress and listed in its programme and on the ISSFAL website.
