Fundamental Research Workshop Grants support researchers, especially early career investigators, through international workshops that advance basic and mechanistic research in thrombosis and hemostasis.
Funder: International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis
Due Dates (Anticipated): August 2027 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: Up to US$50,000 per grant; up to three grants annually
Summary: Supports small international workshops advancing basic and mechanistic translational research in thrombosis and hemostasis.
Key Information: Applicants must be ISTH members, and workshops must have open registration rather than invitation-only attendance.
The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) established Fundamental Research Workshop Grants to facilitate small, international meetings focused on discrete topics in thrombosis and hemostasis. The program strengthens fundamental research—including basic science and mechanistic translational research—in support of the Society’s mission to advance understanding, prevention and treatment of related conditions.
The grants support scientific exchange through focused workshops, with priority given to proposals that support early career investigators. The quality of the scientific program and speaker panel is central to selection. The ISTH Education Committee also considers diversity, equity and inclusion in reviewing proposals, scientific leadership and speaker rosters. Funding supports speaker participation and meeting infrastructure.
