Key Information: Applicants previously awarded any IUBMB support are ineligible.
The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) offers short-term fellowships for trainee and early-career biochemists and molecular biologists to conduct research and training outside their home laboratory. The program supports visits to laboratories in the IUBMB region for experiments requiring special techniques, scientific collaboration, or advanced training. It is intended for junior researchers from countries that are full or associate members of IUBMB.
Established in 1983 through an appeal among the world’s biochemists, the program is named for Harland Wood and William Whelan, former leaders of IUB and IUBMB. More than 350 fellows have received support since its founding.
