Description
This award honors individuals or groups who have made outstanding and sustained efforts to advance inclusiveness, diversity, equity, and multiculturalism within the field of mammalogy or the American Society of Mammalogists (ASM). Established in 2020 in memory of Dr. J. Mary Taylor—ASM’s first female president and a champion for diversity—the award recognizes impactful initiatives that foster a more accessible and welcoming mammalogy community. The award is managed by the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Bias (IDEA) Committee in collaboration with the ASM Office of the Ombudspersons.
