Description
Funded and administered by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Foundation, this fellowship is part of its Honoring Our Mentors program. It offers thoracic oncology surgeons who have recently completed training, or those interested in thoracic surgical oncology, an opportunity to broaden their experience through a two–four week observational placement. Fellows are fully integrated into their host institution’s clinical and academic programs.
The experience connects participants’ prior preparation and professional goals with exposure to thoracic surgical oncology at a designated host institution. Applicants explain what they hope to accomplish, how they will use the skills observed at their home institution, and how the placement relates to their future career goals.
