The Jackson Community Foundation’s YAC Mini-Grant program supports classroom materials, projects, and programs that benefit youth, encourage volunteerism, and enhance the school environment. It connects student-led classroom work with opportunities to contribute to the school community.
The program also introduces K–12 students to the concept of a community foundation and the work it does. By developing a grant proposal and budget, students gain experience describing a project and planning how to use its resources. The program originated at Jackson Community Foundation and has since been replicated around Michigan.
