    Description

The James Koplin Student Travel Grant, administered by the Raptor Research Foundation (RRF), helps students attend the Foundation’s annual meeting to present research papers or posters. Support is directed toward meeting attendance costs rather than financing the research itself. Applicants with the greatest financial need receive the greatest consideration.

The grant honors James Koplin, a long-standing RRF member who died in 1987 and whose contributions to raptor biology and wildlife ecology included training young professionals. During more than 20 years as an educator, thousands of young scientists took his courses in wildlife ecology, management, and population dynamics. The travel grants continue that commitment by supporting students’ participation in the Foundation’s research meeting.
