Description
The Janesville Generations Fund supports projects and programs that help sustain a vibrant Janesville now and for future generations. Formerly the Janesville Community Fund, it is overseen by the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin. Donations form a permanent endowment, with a portion of earnings returned to the community each year through grants determined by a local volunteer advisory board.
The fund brings together charitable funds established by individuals and organizations for Janesville’s benefit. Some are unrestricted, while others focus on cultural, educational, and charitable human service projects. Awards respond to changing community needs. Recent support has included emergency-response technology, outdoor recreation, housing, and children’s books for first responder backpacks.
