    Description

The Japan Foundation provides partial funding for Japanese studies projects run by overseas not-for-profit organizations. The program supports research and conferences on Japan, study or training in Japan, publications, visiting scholars’ lectures, and the acquisition of Japanese studies books and materials. Online projects and other activities that expand Japanese studies and interest in Japan are also eligible.

The program sits within the Foundation’s Japanese Studies Overseas and Global Partnerships [Dialogue] field, which promotes understanding of Japan, dialogue on shared international issues, and human resources for future exchange. Projects must need Foundation support to achieve their purpose and present an appropriate implementation plan with a reasonable expectation of positive results.
