The Japan Foundation’s NIHONGO Partners internship collaborates with universities to dispatch students majoring in Japanese-language education at universities in Japan to educational institutions in Asia. Participants undertake practicum training in Japanese-language education, introduce Japanese culture, and engage in conversational exchange in Japanese. These activities support local Japanese-language teachers and students, promote mutual understanding with local people, and provide experiences to share in Japan.
The internship forms part of the Foundation’s work to make Japanese easier to learn and teach overseas, responding to the circumstances of individual countries and regions. It is included in WA Project 2.0, a people-to-people exchange initiative promoting next-generation exchange and human resource development in Japan and ASEAN.
