It serves people such as researchers, graduate students, librarians, and museum and art museum curators, connecting practical language learning with actual use in specialized work.

Training takes place at the Japanese-Language Institute, Kansai. Participants improve their Japanese-language ability through practical study and its use in research and work-related activities. The program forms part of the Foundation’s broader efforts to develop environments for Japanese-language education overseas, responding to the circumstances of individual countries and regions.
