    Description

The Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Urawa offers five onsite training programs in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, for teachers currently teaching Japanese outside Japan. The programs develop Japanese-language skills, teaching methodology, and understanding of Japanese culture and society, with different combinations of content for different experience and proficiency levels.

The Basic Training Program combines language learning and introductory teaching methodology. Separate Japanese Language and Japanese Teaching Methods programs focus on one of those areas rather than both. Two further programs serve teachers preparing learners to come to Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker or Employment for Skill Development working visas. These focus separately on teaching methods and language skills, alongside knowledge of Japanese affairs, society, and culture useful for living and working in Japan.
