Description
This grant from the Japan Foundation of Los Angeles supports projects that advance Japanese language education on a broad scale—nationwide, statewide, or region-wide—within the United States. The program is designed to benefit multiple Japanese language programs and as many teachers as possible, rather than focusing on a single institution. Eligible projects include professional development workshops, seminars, conferences, advocacy initiatives, articulation efforts between educational levels, research or surveys, and the development of teaching materials. The grant especially encourages projects that bridge Japanese language education with Japan Studies, increase the visibility of Japanese-language education, and enhance the learning environment across multiple programs.
