Description
The Jazz Touring Network (JTN), administered by Mid Atlantic Arts, supports presenters in developing jazz programming and collaboratively booking tours across the mid-Atlantic region. Established in 2001, the program combines professional development, experiential learning, networking, and performance fee grants. It welcomes organizations with little or no jazz-presenting experience as well as experienced jazz presenters seeking to strengthen their programming. New members are selected annually through an open, competitive process; membership continues as long as annual requirements are met.
JTN aims to expand jazz presentation while reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of the field. Members share best practices, curate tours, and develop performances and community engagement activities that deepen audiences’ understanding of jazz. The program particularly seeks to reach new audiences outside major metropolitan areas and communities underserved by the arts.
