The Jerome Foundation’s Minnesota Film Production Grant supports independent film directors whose work expands, questions, experiments with, or re-imagines filmmaking. It funds moving-image media, including narrative, experimental, documentary, and animation, from short animations to feature documentaries. The program seeks innovative approaches and a clear purpose and vision for imaginative storytelling.
The Foundation prioritizes filmmakers who engage directly with people involved in making their work and build relationships with their creative community and the field. Experimentation across genres and new artistic directions is welcome. Support is for production, rather than solely pre-production, post-production, or distribution. Films need not be shot in Minnesota or address Minnesota subject matter.
