Description
The Jimmie & Suey Fong Yee Grants are administered by the Asian American Journalists Association’s Sports Task Force to help students and recent graduates pursue careers in sports journalism. The grants support attendance at AAJA’s National Convention, where past recipients have connected with sports media professionals, developed relationships with fellow journalists, and received career advice.
Made possible by a donation from sports agent Don Yee of Yee & Dubin Sports, LLC., the program honors Jimmie and Suey Fong Yee, Chinese immigrants who settled in Sacramento and encouraged their children to help others achieve their dreams. The grants reflect the Sports Task Force’s work to elevate Asian American voices in sports through mentorship and scholarship opportunities.
