Description
The Joel J. Roslyn Faculty Research Award provides early-career research support to junior faculty members of the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS). It funds direct costs associated with an approved research project and accepts work across surgical specialties and disciplines, including surgical subspecialties such as neurosurgery and urology.
Past funded work spans cancer biology, immune signaling, injury, surgical outcomes, and patient care. Projects have investigated colorectal and pancreatic cancer, inflammatory and metabolic processes, and interventions to improve breast surgery conversations and care for patients with incidental findings. The award combines project support with presentation of completed research at the Academic Surgical Congress and submission of reports and resulting publications to AAS.
