    Description

The John R. Justice (JRJ) Student Loan Repayment Program is a federally funded initiative administered in Massachusetts by the Office of Grants and Research (OGR). It pays eligible educational loans on behalf of selected prosecutors and public defenders, encouraging qualified attorneys to enter these professions and remain employed in them. This is personal educational debt assistance, not funding for research or project activities.

The continuation opportunity supports prior beneficiaries who remain in eligible Massachusetts employment and are still fulfilling their initial three-year service obligation. Eligible work includes criminal and juvenile delinquency prosecution or public defense, including qualifying supervision, education, and training. Awards are paid directly to loan servicers rather than beneficiaries.
