Description
The John W. Davies Memorial Award is offered by the Arctic Section of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers in memory of John W. Davies, a former section chairman. Listed by UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, the award supports graduate students whose research will help provide solutions to problems encountered in Arctic or cold ocean environments.
Its scope includes marine transportation, offshore resource development, and the interaction of ecosystems with the development of Arctic and cold ocean resources.
