Description
The John W. Davies Memorial Award is designed to support full-time graduate students at recognized universities in Canada or the US State of Alaska who are conducting research that addresses challenges in Arctic or cold ocean environments. The award is administered by the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Arctic Section, in memory of John W. Davies. Research areas of interest include marine transportation, offshore resource development, ecosystem interactions with resource development, the impact of climate change in marine cold regions, and other specialized topics relevant to Arctic or cold ocean environments.
