Description
This Fulbright Scholar Program award supports teaching, research, and professional projects in journalism and media studies in Zambia. Areas of interest include journalism, broadcasting, news production, and editing. Scholars may provide courses and lectures for students, practitioners, and faculty on reporting, ethics, new media, writing for online sources, and news editing. Professional projects must benefit both the scholar and the host institution.
Activities may include undergraduate or graduate teaching, student advising and mentoring, and faculty, curriculum, or program development. Scholars may also conduct research in their specialization. The award advances Fulbright’s mission of strengthening relationships between people in the United States and other nations and promoting international understanding and cooperation. Beyond their primary activities, scholars may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and engage with the host community.
