Description
The Juanita Sánchez Community Fund was established in 1992 to honor Juanita Sánchez, a leader and advocate for the Latino community in Rhode Island. The fund provides annual grants to nonprofit organizations for projects that enrich and improve the lives of Latinos in Rhode Island. Grants are intended for one-time costs or expenses and may support both new and ongoing initiatives. Organizations do not need to be exclusively Latino-serving or Latino-led, as long as the funded activities advance the fund's purpose. Requests for translation and interpretation signage/language are not prioritized. Renewed support for the same project in subsequent years is rare.
