Description
The June and Simon Li Fellowship in East Asian Garden and Landscape Studies supports sustained scholarly research at The Huntington in San Marino, California. It is part of the institution’s long-term fellowship program and is open to scholars from the ABD (all but dissertation) stage onwards. Proposed research should address East Asian gardens and landscapes and be appropriate to The Huntington’s collection strengths.
The fellowship connects with the Center for East Asian Garden Studies, which promotes innovative scholarship on garden-making traditions in China, Japan, and Korea. The center’s resources include the Chinese and Japanese Gardens, a scholarly reference library, Japanese rare books, and East Asian garden-related artworks.
