The Just Transition Fund (JTF) is the first pillar of the EU's Just Transition Mechanism, established to support regions, sectors, and workers most affected by the transition to a climate-neutral economy. It aims to alleviate the socio-economic impact of decarbonisation and promote economic diversification, upskilling, and sustainable development in territories highly dependent on carbon-intensive industries. The fund operates under shared management between the European Commission and Member States, with support delivered through national and regional programmes aligned with approved Territorial Just Transition Plans (TJTPs).
