Description
The Justin Champion Doctoral Fellowship in Black British History supports students in the writing-up period of their doctoral studies. Offered by the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), within the University of London’s School of Advanced Study, it provides six months of support for a research project focused on Black British history. It forms part of the IHR’s doctoral completion awards in history.
The fellowship was made possible by a donation in honour of Professor Justin Champion (1960–2020), professor of history at Royal Holloway, University of London. Alongside completing their research, fellows participate in the Institute’s academic life through seminars and exchanges with scholars working in the same field.
