Description
Virginia Humanities’ K-12 Educator Fellowships bring together educators from across the state to create inclusive humanities learning experiences for primary and secondary students. Over nine months, fellows develop two learning experiences with lesson plans aligned with the current Virginia Standards of Learning, designed for both physical classrooms and remote use. They also help plan a professional development offering with other fellows and Virginia Humanities staff.
Fellows are strongly encouraged to focus lessons on historically excluded populations and peoples. Their completed learning experiences will be freely available on the Virginia Humanities Education website. The fellowship emphasizes collaboration across a cohort with varied curriculum interests and offers opportunities to work with subject specialists and Virginia Humanities programs.
