Description
The Idaho Humanities Council’s K-12 Grants support humanities education across Idaho by helping teachers develop curriculum, strengthen classroom learning, and pursue professional development. The program supports individual teachers, schools, and organizations providing programs for K-12 teachers. Its goals are to enhance humanities education, support Idaho educators, and create opportunities for curriculum and professional development.
Supported work includes lesson plans, books and supplies for classroom activities, field trips, teacher workshops, conference attendance, and consulting. Humanities projects may explore history, literature, philosophy, ethics, culture, and the interpretation of art. IHC distinguishes humanities inquiry from creating art: research, consulting, and interpretation of artwork can receive support, but art production cannot. Applicants with ideas outside the listed examples are encouraged to discuss their projects with IHC.
