Description
The Kansas Airport Improvement Program (KAIP) is administered by the Kansas Department of Transportation to assist public-use airport sponsors in improving and maintaining airport infrastructure across the state. The program aims to ensure runways are in good condition, enhance safety, reduce travel times for air ambulance access, and increase the economic development potential of airports and their communities. Eligible projects include system preservation, modernization, equipment and facilities upgrades, and design or planning efforts, all focused on the long-term viability of Kansas's public-use airport system.
