Description
Kansas EPSCoR/IDeA is overseen by the Kansas Board of Regents and provides state matching support for science, engineering, and biomedical research. It aims to strengthen Kansas’s research infrastructure and human capital, increase competitiveness for federal and private-sector research funding, and advance research aligned with the Kansas Science & Technology Plan. The EPSCoR Program Review Committee reviews proposals against Kansas research and development priorities and recommends projects to the Board.
EPSCoR proposals receive first priority for state matching funds. Once those obligations are met, the Companion program supports strategic technology niches with strong potential for the Kansas economy. Companion projects connect the state’s research strengths with Kansas businesses’ commercialization capabilities and seek to attract major federal or industry funding.
