Description
The Kapor Foundation Research Fellowship supports long-form investigative reporting and tech policy research, analysis, or evaluation across three priority areas: CS/AI Education, Innovation, and Governance. With an emphasis on responsible AI and tech ethics, the fellowship aims to deepen understanding of systemic inequities in technology and inform actionable policy solutions.
The Foundation seeks work that fills knowledge gaps, better defines problems, and advances strategically targeted solutions at the intersection of racial equity and technology accountability. Projects may examine national trends or local populations and trends in Oakland, Atlanta, and Detroit, including their respective states. The fellowship supports research and publication rather than intensive training or professional development; fellows are expected to receive that support through their home organizations, editors, or professional networks.
