Description
The Kapor Foundation makes strategic grants across computing education, innovation, and governance to build a responsible and equitable technology ecosystem. It funds research at the intersection of racial equity and technology, capacity-building for coalitions and movement infrastructure, and policy advocacy for systemic change. Across these areas, the foundation focuses on improving opportunities and outcomes for Black, Latine, and Native communities.
Computing education work may address K–12, postsecondary, or alternative pathways; broader participation; equitable-access policy; or educator preparation. Innovation priorities include responsible AI technologies and uses of technology that close gaps in access and opportunity. Governance work builds policy awareness, develops agendas, and mobilizes coalitions to address technological harm and expand economic opportunity.
