Description
The Keep Maryland Beautiful Grant Program is a partnership of the Maryland Environmental Trust, Chesapeake Bay Trust, Maryland Department of Agriculture, and Maryland Department of Transportation. The Chesapeake Bay Trust administers the grants for the Maryland Environmental Trust. The program supports community-based organizations and land trusts working to protect natural resources and improve life in Maryland communities.
Its funding tracks support environmental education, outreach, litter prevention, neighborhood greening, land trust capacity, and tree planting on agricultural lands. Projects are intended to engage residents in stewardship, build awareness of local environmental problems, and develop solutions. Agricultural planting projects also aim to expand tree cover and improve habitat and water quality.
