The Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame supports Faculty Fellows seeking postdoctoral or predoctoral collaborators for research on democratic backsliding, broadly defined. Proposals identify how a researcher would benefit the faculty project and the specific skills and expertise needed. The program combines contributions to faculty research with opportunities for researchers’ independent work and professional development.
Postdoctoral researchers divide their time approximately equally between faculty-project research assistantship activities and their own independent research. Predoctoral researchers contribute to faculty projects while participating in Institute programming, research training, workshops, and preparation for graduate study or related research careers. Mentoring opportunities may include collaboration, co-authorship, methodological training, conference participation, and career mentoring.
