Description
Kentucky Arts Rising is administered by the Kentucky Arts Council to strengthen and sustain small, community-based arts and cultural organizations with limited operating budgets. The program supports organizations whose primary mission is to provide Kentuckians with year-round arts programming. Its goals include developing strong arts organizations, increasing statewide participation, promoting diverse arts and cultures, and building an efficient arts delivery system.
Supported programming includes performances, exhibits, screenings, readings, festivals, and creative experiences that expand access. The program emphasizes inclusion of people with disabilities and groups marginalized by age, income, gender, race, or ability. It also supports cross-sector partnerships that strengthen community identity, projects helping communities reflect on or recover from disasters, and arts activities that re-envision and revitalize public spaces.
