    Description

The Kentucky Department for Local Government’s Economic Development Branch supports development activities that create or retain jobs principally benefiting low- and moderate-income (LMI) people. Funded through the Commonwealth’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation, the program also supports training and human services that help LMI people advance professionally.

The program has two funding areas. Traditional assistance supports community projects specifically addressing job creation or retention, including assistance for particular business or industrial clients. Non-Traditional assistance supports eligible activities benefiting LMI people that are not directly related to job creation. Cities and counties can apply individually or through multi-jurisdiction applications, subject to the program’s funding limits.
